PFVI to Unveil Plans, Targets and Timetables at VOX 2001
DALLAS, Jul 12, 2001-- Preferred Voice, Inc. (PFVI) , headquartered in Dallas,
said today it will present its plan for bringing 40 customers and a minimum of
500,000 billable subscribers online this year to a prestigious national audience
of telecommunications leaders at VOX 2001. Sponsored by the Kelsey Group, VOX
2001 will be held in Boca Raton, FL, July 18-20, 2001.
"With the initial
agreements with AT&T behind us, we now have the technology to do the job.
And recent events in Albany, Atlanta and elsewhere have created a favorable
political and social climate for Telcos to introduce 'Safety Talk' -- and the
benefits of voice activated dialing as an enhanced service suitable for each and
every customer," said Preferred Voice chairman and co-founder G. Ray Miller.
Miller said that of the 40 Telcos expected to participate in the
rollout, that exclusive, long-term agreements with 30 of these customers have
already been announced. "Our customers include Telcos of every size and shape,
and from every area of the United States," Miller said.
Miller said, "I
plan to demonstrate to the industry and to the institutional audience at VOX how
the platform we are building with AT&T is going to work, so they can fully
appreciate the profound economic and strategic benefits, and understand why we
believe that voice activated dialing is going to be the most important advance
in telecommunications since touch tone."
"With the AT&T agreements,"
said Miller, "we dramatically lowered our cost structure; we gained the
scalability necessary to enable all Telcos -- regardless of size -- to become
our customers; and we created a substantial barrier to entry for anyone who may
come along in the future to compete with PFVI in the business of providing
Telcos the technology to deliver voice dialing services to customers -- along
with the ability to get started right away without having to make a substantial
up front capital investment."
Miller, who will be leading the team for
Preferred Voice at VOX 2001, has served successfully in various leadership
capacities in the telecommunications industry for more than 30 years. As
co-founder of US Telephone, Inc., he directed one of the first and most
successful competitive long distance companies in the 1980s. US Tel later merged
with two other companies to form US Sprint in 1985. As founder and CEO of
International Telecharge, Inc., Miller was instrumental in pioneering the
operator services industry's first robotics operator using voice technology. Now
as co-founder, Chairman and CEO of Preferred Voice, he is intent on using the
telephone to bring voice-activated dialing -- and a whole new generation of
enhanced services -- into every home.
