Preferred Voice Launches Service with Arvig Communication Systems and Ntelos
Inc.
Companies To Offer Voice Recognition Services
DALLAS, TX - (May
16, 2002) - Preferred Voice, Inc. (OTCBB: PFVI), the leading network-based
speech application provider, said today that Ntelos, a Virginia based wireless
carrier and Arvig Communications, a Minnesota based ILEC has begun offering its
Voice Activated Dialing service.
Ntelos provides services covering five
states including Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee and North
Carolina. Preferred Voice is providing their speech-driven services through its
nationwide SS7/VoIP network to two of Ntelos's switch locations today and is on
target to install and launch the remaining two locations by July 1.
Arvig Communications is a multi-service communications provider
including local service, long distance, Internet access and Cable TV. Preferred
Voice will initially launch the Voice Activated Dialing service and then quickly
move to launching other speech recognition services to their residential and
business customers.
The unique network, developed by Preferred Voice,
gives subscribers access to a "Personal Dialing Directory," through a speed
access code, such as ** or #99. After accessing the directory, the subscriber
can either speak the name of the directory listing or the phone number desired,
thus activating the connection to the party being called.
Preferred
Voice, Inc. has developed cost-effective, turn-key solutions that enable both
wireline and wireless carriers to offer their subscribers revenue producing
voice recognition services, including Voice Activated Dialing. Preferred Voice's
services do not require the carrier or subscriber to buy or install any extra
equipment. Participating carriers agree to share revenues with Preferred Voice
and use Preferred Voice as their exclusive provider of speech-driven enhanced
services.
"Our list of carrier partners continues to grow as more
wireless providers demonstrate their commitment to voice recognition services
and to the safety concerns of their subscribers," said Bill Schereck, president
and COO for Preferred Voice. "These launches are yet another positive step in
insuring Preferred Voice's role as the only viable speech recognition provider
to telecommunications carriers."
